The taliban
The Taliban is a political group in Afghanistan. They do not have full control over Afghanistan, but they play a big role in the country's terrorist environment. The Taliban believes that Islam is the only "true religion". They deeply oppose religions other then Islam and believe that Islam should be practiced by everyone. The Qur'an states that Islam should be spread by its followers, and that they should encourage people to convert, but in a peaceful way. The Taliban, spreads Islam and encourages people to convert, but in a violent and forceful way, deliberately disagreed with in The Qur'an. In 1996, when The Taliban first came into power, they harshly took rights away from Afghans and forced them to follow Islam. Employment, education and sports for women, movies, television, kite-flyng, clapping during sports-events, and things such as pork, pig oil, alcohol, computers, VCRs, wine, lobster, nail polish, firecrackers, and music were prohibited. Afghans disagreed with The Taliban, and formed a group named the Northern Alliance which fought The Taliban directly. In addition to being a cause of fear and terror in Afghanistan, The Taliban is also a threat to other countries. The Taliban has planned hundreds of attacks, in which they target countries where Islam is not practiced and where people may be a threat to them. September 11, 2001 and hundreds of other terrorist attacks by the Taliban have affected thousands of people. However, ever since the murder of Osama Bin Laden, One of the Talibans infamous leaders, they've been weakening. The Taliban is a terorrist group in Afghanistan which places terror and fear in the lives of its people and many others.
